Jane Moss is a published author with a long career as a professional writer and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Surrey. She has a special interest in writing for well being, memoir and poetry. Read more about Jane’s experience and publications here.

JaneDuring the retreat Jane offers coaching sessions to help you reflect on your writing and how it sits with other aspects of your life, and how you would like to develop your writing life or career. Having transformed her own life in the past ten years, from marketing professional and civil servant to full time writer, Jane is well equipped to help you work out your priorities and plan your next steps.

‘I can honestly say that Jane’s wise words, constructive criticism and supportive comments helped to improve my confidence in short story writing. During the course two of my short stories were accepted for publication and indeed both were prizewinners.’ Maire Malone, University of Hertfordshire

‘Jane is like the Jools Holland of writing; embracing and encouraging such an eclectic mix of styles and genres.’ Philip Dixon, University of Hertfordshire

‘Writing was always something I knew I would do ‘one day’. Jane’s classes were an inspiration; fun, exciting, and challenging. I am now on the final edit of my first full length novel, a feat I would never have managed without her encouragement.’ Louisa Miller, Kingston Adult College

Kath Morgan is a professional writer and teacher of creative writing. She has a Master’s Degree in Professional Writing with a specialism in writing the novel, an Honours Degree in English and American Literature, and a PGCE in English and Drama. She has been published in both national and regional magazines and has over twenty years teaching experience.

Tanya 193During the retreat, Kath will offer one-to-one sessions in which to discuss your writing. You can use these meetings to focus on your development as a writer – what you know and what you need to learn next. Or you can use them to receive critical feedback on your work in progress. The emphasis will be on craft and technique, and the feedback will be honest and constructive. Connect with Kath at kathmorgansays.com, LinkedIn or on Facebook.

‘I began knowing nothing about creative writing and now I have the skills and confidence to do something I have always wanted to do, write!’  Rebecca Heane

‘Kath is able to encourage, inspire and help both new writers like me and published authors. Her writing workshops encouraged me to continue writing and this year I was in the top six for the Fowey Festival short story competition. I warmly recommend her to you.’  Vicky Morley

‘Kath is quite simply brilliant at editing and has helped me enormously in preparing work for publication.  My genre is travel writing, and her input and assistance has resulted in my having travel pieces published in Reader’s Digest and The Saturday Telegraph travel supplement.’   Sarah Owens

‘If she’s opening a writers retreat, I want the room with a view.’ William Essex
