Time to Write – retreat programme

This is our outline programme for the week. Timings may vary slightly but this will give you an idea of how to plan your time and make the most of your retreat.

The focus of the retreat is ‘time to write’, with plenty of space in the day for you do just that. For those who want some inspiration for the day ahead, each morning after breakfast we will host a short optional writing session.

This retreat features the option of signing up for 30 minute one-to-one sessions with Kath or Jane; daily opportunities to use one or other of us as a sounding board for ideas, to get feedback, and to troubleshoot. You can sign up for these when you arrive. Kath is our resident fiction expert, both novels and short stories; Jane will handle anything from poetry and life writing, to your novel.

In the evenings we have a variety of after dinner talks and readings. Midweek we welcome our guest writer Patrick Gale, who will join us for dinner and give a reading and a talk. He will return next day to host a writing masterclass. On the final evening we invite those of you who would like to share your own writing to read to the group; a lovely way to end the week by the fireside in the Bosloe sitting room.
